???? Step-by-Step: How I Make Press-Ons Last 2–3 Weeks
1. (Optional) Cut natural nails down short
2. Wipe acetone over each press-on and let dry (Nina Poole method)
3. Push back cuticles
4. Lightly file natural nails – creates a rough surface for better adhesion
5. Use a nail dehydrator or acetone to remove oils from the nail
6. Apply a thin layer of glue to natural nails only – let dry completely
7. Lightly buff over the dried glue – this gives the press-on something to grip
8. Apply each press-on, holding down firmly for at least 30 seconds(I use the timer on my UV light to stay consistent)
9. Reinforce with acrylic powder + glue under the tip (Dollar Tree Nails method)
* Drop glue under the tip, dip in powder, let dry
* Repeat if nails are thin or flimsy
10. (Optional) Add builder gel + bling for a custom salon look
11. Seal everything with a no-wipe top coat – once cured, you're done!
