Happy New Year! A new year brings a new hair growth challenge! This year we are taking our hair growth journey seriously, and we will absolutely reach our length retention goals! *Step#1: Set your SMART goal*
My goal: Retain 4 inches of growth

*Step #2: Assess your hair & overall health*
1) Check with your doctor for any vitamin deficiencies or health concerns - and take supplements accordingly! (I'm currently taking vitamin D, and a multivitamin with iron & biotin)
2) Make sure you're eating a well-balanced diet & drinking enough water!
3) Assess your hair type to understand how to best take care of YOUR hair, and avoid comparing your hair journey to others!

*Step #3: Set your rules!*
My Hair Growth Challenge Rules:
1. No braids/extensions - low manipulation protective styles ONLY
2. STICK to your hair care routine*
3. Gentle detangling
4. Minimal heat
5. Regular length checks

*Step #4: Baseline length check*
My measurements as of January 1st, 2026:
Back: 7.5 inches
Sides: 6 inches
Middle: 10 inches
Front: 7 inches

*My hair care routine:
- weekly shampoo & deep condition
- moisturize x2 week
- monthly treatments (e.g., hot oil, hair masks, protein treatment)
- trim every 3-4 months
- oil edges & scalp every other day)
