BLUE CYCLE BIBLE DRILL (SWORD DRILL) GOALS

Memory verses are done in two ways. First, students are given the reference and are expected to quote the entire verse. Second, students are given the first few words of the verse. They are expected to quote it entirely, with the reference.

Memory Verses (Blue Cycle): Gen. 1:31; Deut. 16:17; Josh. 24:24; 1 Chron. 16:9; Ps. 56:3; 119:11; Prov 22:1; Isa 6:8; 45:5; Mal. 3:10; Matt. 28:19-20; Lk. 2:52; 19:10; Jn. 4:24; 13:35; Acts 4:12; Rom. 10:9; 1 Cor. 3:16; Eph. 2:8; 1 Thess. 5:18; 1 Tim. 4:12; 2 Tim. 2:15; Jas. 1:22; 1 Pet. 4:9; 1 Jn. 4:21.

For Key Passages, students are given the title. They are expected to find it in the Bible in 10 seconds and give the reference. Additional lessons explore the contents of each key passage.

Key Passages (Blue Cycle): God’s Covenant with Abraham (Gen. 12:1-3), A Shepherd’s Song (Ps. 23), The Suffering Servant (Isa. 53), The Twelve Apostles (Matt. 10:2-4), The Resurrection of Jesus (Matt. 28), The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Lk. 10:25-37), Jesus’ First Miracle (Jn. 2:1-11), The Work of the Holy Spirit (Jn. 16:5-15), The Conversion of Saul (Acts 9:1-30), The Love Chapter (1 Cor. 13).

For Bible books, students are given a book of the Bible. They should find it in the Bible in 10 seconds, then name the book before, the book called, and the book following.
