VERC team members demonstrate what to do and what NOT to do when trimming puppies’ nails. A great Fear Free technique we use on our patients is yummy distractions – keeping pets focused on a delicious treat in front of them instead of the nail trimming helps build trust and create a positive experience at the veterinary hospital. We NEVER recommend rolling pets on their side. This creates more stress, causing the patient to become confused and squirmy while flailing their legs.
